為了出名，很多人不惜做一些「出格的」事情來博取眼球。

為了上熱搜，各種「炒作」，「作秀」輪番上演。你討厭「炒作」嗎？那「炒作」英語怎麼說？

本期我們就來說說「炒作」這個話題。

「炒作」在英文中有個對應的表達，叫做：Publicity stunt:

Something unusual that is done to make people notice a person, organization, or product.

做一些不尋常的事情來讓別人注意到某人，某個組織或者產品。

* publicity可以表示關注/宣傳/報導，stunt可以表示噱頭/電影中的特技表演等。

所以publicity stunt合在一起表達的意思就是一個宣傳的噱頭，一個炒作或者說成作秀也可。

看兩個英語例句：

① Many media outlets suggest that these were all publicity stunts to grow his brand.

許多媒體都表示這些都是他宣傳的手段，只為他的品牌增長。

② Sun Yuchen, this year's Warren Buffett lunch winner, apologized for his excessive marketing and publicity stunt on the Chinese social media platform.

孫宇晨，今年「股神」巴菲特午餐大贏家，為自己在中國社交媒體平臺上的過度營銷和宣傳噱頭道歉。

* 如果常上Weibo/microblog的人因為看過這個熱搜，那段時間天天都是他。

絕對的excessive marketing過度營銷，excessive publicity stunt 過度炒作了。

導致最後的最後，我只要看到有他的名字都不再點進去了。

剛才學了publicity stunt中的stunt可以表示特技。

那我們接著學習一下各種電影中常出現的「stunt」吧。

Stunt flying 飛行特技

Stunt driving 飆車特技（詳見「fast and furious」《速度與激情》）

Stunt fighting 格鬥特技

Stunt的定義中有一個詞：something dangerous, for example jumping from a building, that is done to entertain people, often as part of a film.

但凡是stunt一般都比較危險，能夠讓你的腎上激素急速飆升。

比如說下面英語例句中的這個人：

① Although he was 50, he managed to do some stunt driving for the film.

儘管他50歲了，仍然成功的為電影貢獻了一些特技駕駛鏡頭。

* 注意搭配：do some stunt driving/flying

② Stunt driving is being able to take a vehicle to the edge of losing control…. while staying in control.

特技駕駛就是把一輛車開到失控的邊緣，但是又同時能保持控制。

* 大汪是《速度與激情》的狂熱粉絲，特別喜歡飆車的鏡頭，你呢？
