有一句話說謀事在人，成事在天，意思是人們計劃事情，剩下的結果依賴於運氣。這句話反應了努力和運氣之間的聯繫，那就是雖然有時候我們很努力工作，但是運氣也佔據了很重要的位置，意外的事情會發生，阻擋人們成功。為了取得成功，人們努力工作，他們相信能達到目標，但是運氣的缺失讓他們無法達到自己的目標。因此努力並不意味著能直接給人們帶來成功，他們需要多試幾次，沒有運氣，人們仍然可以達到目標。運氣幫助人們接近成功，沒有努力付出，無法成功。努力和運氣能讓人們實現目標，但是沒有運氣，人們多嘗試幾次，也能終將辦到。
