　　possiblelearningstylesthathumansuse.Theyhavefoundthatwecanveryroughlydividepeopleintothreegroupsthosewholearnbestthroughseeing,thosewholearnbestthroughlisteningandthosewholearnbestthroughmoving,doingortouching.

　　Someresearchhasidentifiedeightdistinctlearningstyles,andresearchershavemadeupteststofindoutwhichoftheselearningstylesbestsuitsdifferentpeople.Thesetestsshowthat,althoughmostpeoplehaveonedominantstyleoflearning,theyarealsoabletouseotherlearningstyleseffectively.Somepeopleevenseemtohavemanydifferentlearningstyles.

　　長期以來教育家們就知道人們的學習方式不盡相同。這就是為什麼教師要以不同形式為學生提供信息。譬如，除了講解新的語言外，語言教師還時常會運用書本、圖片、錄像、磁帶、歌曲、辯論和小組討論等形式，提供其他學習體驗。這樣，班上所有學生都可以有機會以最適合自己的方式進行學習。

　　在過去的大約5年中，專家們對學習者進行了研究，力圖弄清人類使用的所有可能的學習方式。他們發現人們的學習類型大致可分三種：最佳視覺型、最佳聽覺型和通過活動、操作或觸摸取得最佳效果的類型。

　　一些研究還區分出入種不同的學習方式，並且研究者還使用測試手段試圖發現不同的群體最適於哪種學習方式。這些測試表明，雖然大多數人具有一種主要的學習方式，但也可以有效使用其他學習方式。有些人甚至似乎具備多種學習方式。
